Rolls-Royce has an excellent opportunity for a Project Delivery Manager to join our Submarines Business in Derby, to support the delivery of our In-Service UK Nuclear Submarine fleet. This role sits within the Services Delivery Business Unit; therefore, the successful candidate will need to have a strong customer management focus, a proven track record in project delivery and the ability to operate in a complex environment within the Submarines enterprise.

What You Will Be Doing
- This vacancy is to lead the Commodities team within the In-Service Programmes team and will be responsible for the planning and supply of Mechanical and Electrical material into Naval Stores. This requires close working with the Customer, External Supply Chain teams and the Rolls-Royce production facilities.
- Leading the Delivery of all the project requirements ensuring that the overall project outputs meet these requirements - projects range from technical development projects to product delivery and programme to control account delivery.
- Leading the financial management, including monthly monitoring, Quarterly Forecasts, budgets and estimates to complete.
- Leading on contract/project/control account reviews by supporting the production of management reports. This will be for both internal and external reviews, and cover all aspects of Programmes progress against plan, resource, risk and deliverables.
- Co-ordinating work across the DBUs (Delivery Business Units) alongside the other Programme teams in line with agreed PM controls processes and controlling activities including gated reviews, monitoring, priorities, dependencies, procurement, quality, work authorisation, change control, approvals and stakeholder management.
- Ensuring the Submarines project controls processes are effectively deployed and maintained for all work through the lifecycle of the projects delivery.
Who We’re Looking For

You will possess a degree in a relevant engineering or business discipline or have an equivalent level of continuous professional development and experience. You will have Project Management experience, showing an understanding of the project lifecycle, risk management, cost management, planning and programming. The role will involve dealing with customers and stakeholders at all levels and excellent communication skills are therefore a prerequisite. A working knowledge of SAP and/or scheduling tools in relation to project activities is desirable. You will have the ability to work with minimum supervision in order to deliver results and to work in ambiguous situations, whilst working to tight timescales and achieving quality outputs on time. You must have a proactive approach and be a team player. It would be desirable to have APMP or PRINCE 2 qualifications.
