Product System Design Engineer – Structures & Transmissions
Full time
Bristol/Hybrid
When you join as a Product System Design Engineer within the Structures and Transmissions group, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary organisation delivering novel gas turbine sub-system solutions for next-generation power and propulsion systems, while supporting our in-service products.
You will be responsible for the design and definition of complex sub systems within Gas Turbine Engine Structures and Transmissions. You will apply advanced engineering practices and robust design methodologies to create solutions that meet demanding technical requirements across the full product lifecycle.

It\’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we\’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.
What you will be doing
In this role, you\’ll be responsible for developing innovative and reliable design solutions for Structures & Transmissions sub-systems. You will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, applying advanced design tools and engineering methodologies to deliver products that meet demanding performance, safety, and lifecycle requirements.

You\’ll:

  • Lead the design and definition of complex sub systems for Structures & Transmissions.
  • Apply systems engineering, robust design, and D-FMECA methodologies to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Create and manage design solutions using CAD tools (NX preferred) and PLM systems.
  • Ensure designs meet system requirements, customer needs, and lifecycle considerations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple disciplines to deliver robust, cost-effective solutions.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with effective communication and stakeholder management skills to drive projects forward. To be successful in this role, you\’ll need:

  • Degree-qualified in Engineering (Master\’s preferred) or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong experience in complex sub system design.
  • Confident and experienced user of CAD tools, ideally Siemens NX.
  • Proven capability in design with an emphasis on robust design methodologies and systems engineering.
  • Practical experience applying D-FMECA and managing stakeholders effectively.
