- Position Summary
In this role you will manage the planning and on‑time delivery of a defined portfolio of parts across the full product lifecycle, including NPI, production, transfers, and supply chain design.
You will serve as the primary contact for both external suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensuring strong relationship management and timely delivery performance.
This role also involves driving adherence to supplier commitments, resolving risks to delivery and inventory, and maintaining SAP data integrity in line with ERP processes.
- What you will be doing
- Demand flow down
- Review and maintain planning parameters of all parts in your portfolio to ensure the MRP run generates a demand signal that aligns with suppliers’ capacity.
- Manage the demand flow down to suppliers, ensuring suppliers receive weekly order books that reflect Rolls‑Royce needs, including exceptions highlighted by the ERP system that need to be reviewed and addressed by suppliers.
- Manage requisitions for un‑sourced parts to ensure buyers can source parts in a timely manner.
- Supplier Management
- Lead regular reviews with suppliers to ensure the demand flowed down is loaded into the supplier’s system, resolve exception messages, understand production progress against commitments, highlight issues and ensure treatment plans are monitored to recover delays or excess inventory.
- Ensure any changes to suppliers’ production plans and commitments are reflected in ERP systems.
- Lead regular supplier reviews (delivery and order book) in line with the agreed engagement plan to review performance across KPIs, load and capacity plan, and ensure risks have mitigation plans.
- Work with suppliers to create and execute arrears recovery plans for parts/suppliers behind plan using appropriate planning and control tools.
- Drive suppliers to be compliant with buffer stock requirements/agreements.
- Stakeholder management
- Identify and prioritise delivery issues when performance diverges from plan and assist mitigation and resolution; escalate delivery issues as needed.
- Communicate with stakeholders for shortages and excess inventory, demonstrating control and providing plans to resolve issues and frequent updates.
- Work with other functions to resolve matters that could impact delivery, including invoice clearance, commercial disputes, technical/quality queries or insufficient purchase order coverage.
- ERP compliance
- Review KPIs used within the Supplier Management team and present progress and actions to achieve compliance during weekly ERP reviews.
- Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve delivery issues not directly linked to suppliers (e. g., stock in transit, GRIP, NCR stock).
- Process improvement
- Work in line with the Procurement Production System and support its development and improvement activities to continuously improve operations.
- Position qualifications
- Educated to degree level in a numerate or business discipline or equivalent business experience within planning, manufacturing or supply chain.
- Membership of a relevant professional body or institute would be desirable (e. g., APICS CPIM).
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Excel essential) with working knowledge of an ERP system, preferably SAP MRP, Production Planning & Material Management.
- Understanding of load and capacity planning.
- Data analysis and decision‑making skills, comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
- The ability to communicate with all parts of the business including internal and external stakeholders.
