Permanent, full time onsite position in Derby with a shift pattern of 24/6 (12hr shifts) including some weekends.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Manufacturing Services Technician (Toolmaker) to join our Turbine Blade Facility in Derby. In this role, you will be producing parts from engineering drawings and maintaining critical tooling and fixtures in a fast-paced production environment. You will support equipment availability through fault rectification, servicing, supplier engagement and continuous improvement, while maintaining strong adherence to Health and Safety standards and a Zero Harm culture.
What you will be doing:
- Perform a range of routine and reactive maintenance on tooling and fixtures across a broad range of manufacturing assets and production equipment to ensure that manufacturing equipment is safe, available and capable for use when required.
- Analyse equipment data to inform and implement the most effective approach towards repair, manufacture or modification.
- Collect, organise, and analyse data in support of Key Performance Indicators for the Manufacturing Services Department as required.
- Work with site Manufacturing Engineers to help understand and implement tooling requirements and work alongside equipment OEM engineers as required.
- Utilise problem solving skills and abilities to make sound recommendations based on judgement, training and previous experience to identify, recommend and implement improvements.
- Liaise with the onsite spares integrator to ensure spares inventory reflects operational demands with minimal inventory.
Position qualifications:
- NVQ level 3 and relevant time served apprenticeship in a relevant subject.
- Ability to use and understand hand gauges, inspection equipment and computerised measuring equipment.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and manufacture components based on these.
- Experience in operating manual and CNC machine tools to a high degree in order to manufacture components to Engineering drawings and be able to reverse engineer and manufacture components where drawings aren't available.
- Experience in programming CNC machine tools preferable.
- Ability to use CAD/CAM PLM software to design parts and create technical drawings is preferable but not essential.
