Logistics is central to this, ensuring the safe, efficient and predictable movement of materials across factories, construction sites and customer locations worldwide.

Role Overview: In this context, we’re looking for a Head of Logistics Operations to lead the strategic delivery and integration of global logistics operations across our programme. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Construction and Programme teams to ensure logistics is fully aligned and enabling delivery at scale. Reporting into the Head of Logistics, you’ll play a key role in shaping our global logistics capability, driving operational excellence and ensuring a resilient, high‑performing logistics model.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead global logistics operations across factories, customer sites and construction environments.
  • Develop and implement integrated logistics strategies aligned to programme delivery, cost and quality requirements.
  • Oversee multimodal transport and freight planning, including heavy and abnormal load solutions.
  • Build and manage a high‑performing global 3PL/4PL partner ecosystem.
  • Drive operational performance through KPIs covering cost, OTIF delivery, HSE and environmental metrics.
  • Ensure effective integration of logistics with engineering, manufacturing and commissioning activities.
  • Lead material flow, aftermarket logistics and asset traceability across the programme.
  • Develop and lead a multi‑region logistics operations team.
  • Drive continuous improvement, resilience and innovation across global operations.

Qualifications:

  • Significant experience leading global logistics operations in complex, multi‑site environments.
  • Strong expertise in multimodal transport, freight strategy and logistics execution.
  • Proven ability to integrate logistics across engineering, manufacturing and site operations.
  • Experience managing strategic logistics partners and large‑scale supplier ecosystems.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing large operational budgets.
  • Knowledge of HSE, regulatory and environmental requirements.
  • Experience in complex, regulated industries such as energy, nuclear, infrastructure, aerospace or defence.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability.

Location & Work Arrangement: This role can be based from our Derby, Manchester or Warrington offices, with hybrid working and regular engagement across our sites and partners.

Security & Compliance: Obtaining Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance. Satisfactory completion of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Satisfactory completion of a basic financial probity check.

Salary & Benefits: We anticipate paying a salary of between £85,600 – £113,800 DOE plus: Bonus – performance‑related target opportunity 20%; Long‑term incentive – performance‑related LTIP target 15%; Benefits Allowance – £8,500 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package.
