Kitting Mechanic

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Kitting Mechanic to join the Engine Overhaul Services (EOS) team, based in Derby.
The Engine Overhaul Services (EOS) facility is 27,000m2, with ~550 employees, and operational for 20hrs a day, 365 days a year. As the only wholly owned Large Engine MRO facility, with capability to maintain all modern Trent engines, EOS is fundamental to the future success of Civil Aerospace.
Our Mechanics complete engine maintenance, modifications, and inspections on The Trent series of engines within the workshop facility. This is a workshop based role, aimed to support engine build up mechanics by ensuring build kits are maintained as well as issuing parts, controlling stock levels and assisting despatching unserviceable material back to vendors.

What you will be doing:
This role is primarily based around kitting/part storage work and the successful candidate would expect to complete the following activities.
- Issuing components to engine build and maintain kit availability documentation (kit status)
- Component inspection and repair
- Manage component through vendor repair loop.
- Driving compliance by updating component quarantine and segregating U/S Material
- Working closely with Kit Plan Controller and Airline Support team to fill gaps in kit and support urgent customer requests.
Inspection and component capabilities will be gained and maintained during Ad-Hoc requests and working contractual Saturdays. The successful candidate can expect to work Mon-Fri on a 2 Shift pattern with contractual Saturdays applicable.

- Time-served apprenticeship; NVQ level 3
- A self-starter, with a flexible approach and ability to work on own initiative with great teamwork.
- IT literate
