The International Tax Business Partner will join the Group Tax team, reporting to the Head of International Tax. Focus is on the Group’s international tax affairs and serves as a global contact for international tax matters across more than 40 territories (excluding the US and Germany). The role collaborates closely with tax specialists and professionals across the global organisation, driving value and minimising tax risk while acting as a trusted business partner to the Civil business and the M&A team.
What You Will Be Doing
- Act as a tax leader, modelling Rolls‑Royce behaviours and leadership expectations, and contributing to team development and functional strategy.
- Ensure the Group meets its global tax compliance obligations in all overseas locations (other than the US and Germany), working with the Rolls‑Royce tax team, transfer pricing specialists, Corporate & Compliance tax teams and international tax teams, and liaising with external advisors.
- Collaborate closely with Governance, Legal, Global Mobility, Treasury, HR and Finance to align tax, contractual, compliance and growth strategies, mitigating risk and creating value.
- Business‑partner with the Civil business to keep tax matters understood, opportunities captured and risks minimised.
- Business‑partner with the M&A team to design and implement tax‑efficient structures for international deals.
- Defend the Group’s tax positions in government audits and regulatory proceedings.
- Advise on tax implications and risks for complex cross‑border transactions, and source relevant advice from the global advisor network when required.
- Negotiate favourable tax clauses with customers to ensure financial efficiency and risk mitigation.
- Support tax analysis and administration of permanent establishments and foreign branches.
- Collect, analyse and validate data from stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, providing hands‑on tax support.
- Monitor international legislative developments, evaluate implications and application, and communicate these to relevant parties.
- Contribute to international elements of group reporting and forecasting.
- Engage in ongoing improvement initiatives to enhance processes.
- Contribute to the training of businesses and functions on tax risk.
- Manage ad‑hoc projects and advice in support of the Head of International Tax.
Position Qualifications
- Degree level qualification or equivalent.
- Professional tax qualification or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years post‑qualified experience.
- Experience in international tax within practice or industry.
- Experience of business partnering.
- Experience managing dispute resolutions.

- Expertise in permanent establishments and Pillar 2 of BEPS 2.0.
- Strong commercial and business acumen.
- Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple jurisdictions, businesses and functions.
