An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical/Controls Engineer or Technologist to join our engineering team in Peterborough, Ontario. Our team consists of approximately thirty engineers/technologists.
Responsibilities
- Design/upgrades of electrical and control systems
- Analyses and translates high level requirements and applicable standards into electrical design requirements
- Liaises with other disciplines to understand functional performance capabilities of components of the system to facilitate effective electrical design
- Designs and implements electrical designs to meet requirements including their testability
- Install programs, supports system integration and trouble-shooting at our facility, at third-party test houses and in the field
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
- A recognized engineering degree or diploma with 5 years experience in a similar role
- Works well as part of a team
- High level of proficiency in English in both verbal and written communication skills
- Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada for greater than 5 years
- Must pass Canadian Controlled Goods and Reliability Security Clearance checks
Preferred Requirements
- A recognized electrical or software engineering degree and license with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) as a P.Eng.
- Able to manage assigned work package(s)
- Experience with SEE Electrical Expert or other electrical CAD software
- Experience with Siemens Step 7 or other PLC programming software
- Experience with Indusoft HMI or other HMI programming software
