An opportunity has arisen for a Non-Conformance Authority (NCA) to join the Defence Mature Engines team in Bristol.
The role will be responsible for assessing and dispositioning concessions, deviation permits (DPs) and Technical Acceptance Documents (TADs). The successful candidate will be expected to apply engineering principles to determine if product, identified as non-conforming, may still be acceptably released to a Rolls-Royce customer.
What you will be doing:
- Non-Conformance Authority for all Defence Aero & Naval products.
- Analyse non-conforming product against all potential application(s) and customer requirements to determine any adverse impacts on fit, form, function, product safety or visual condition within its intended use(s).
- Use of lean methods and approaches to drive continuous improvement.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions and make necessary improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal teams on non-conformance issues.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to non-conformance issues, including reports and records.
Position qualifications:
- Educated to degree level in a STEM subject and/or have experience in a relevant engineering environment. Other qualifications, in combination with relevant experience, may also be considered.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills, capable of systems level thinking, demonstrating personal drive, presentation skills and contributing effectively to a team environment.
- Thorough knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), to support non-conformance impact assessment.
- Strong communicator, able to set expectations and manage stakeholders at all levels & be able to manage conflicts/priorities.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with gas turbine, aerospace manufacturing processes and materials is preferred.
