An exciting opportunity has arisen for a SVP Transformation, Programmes & Portfolio to join the Civil Aerospace Team in Derby. The SVP Transformation, Programmes & Portfolio role leads the transformation, governance and delivery of a critical portfolio of programmes across the Trent Fleet and Mature Engines Value Stream. The SVP will drive operational excellence, embed a consistent operating model, and ensure that strategic initiatives deliver measurable commercial and performance outcomes. The role sits at the intersection of strategy, operations, digital and programme execution, ensuring the business delivers against its priorities with pace, discipline and transparency.

What you will be doing:

  • Portfolio Leadership & Delivery
    • Lead a portfolio of strategic programmes aligned to business priorities and value creation
    • Ensure delivery against defined KPIs across cost, schedule, quality and outcomes
    • Provide clear visibility of portfolio performance, risks and opportunities to executive stakeholders
    • Drive accountability across programme owners and delivery teams
  • Transformation & Value Creation
    • Lead end-to-end transformation initiatives across the value stream, from concept through to execution
    • Identify and deliver improvements in operational performance, including cost efficiency and service quality
    • Embed a culture of continuous improvement and performance focus
  • Operating Model & Governance
    • Establish and embed a consistent governance framework across programmes and portfolios
    • Define clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities across the organisation
    • Ensure robust investment governance across capital, revenue and resource allocation
    • Standardise processes and ways of working across the value stream
  • Digital & Data Enablement
    • Drive the transition from manual, fragmented reporting to digitised, data-led decision making
    • Lead the development of a single source of truth for performance data
    • Partner with Digital and IT teams to implement scalable solutions
    • Enable faster, insight-driven decision making at all levels
  • Stakeholder & Matrix Leadership
    • Operate effectively across a complex, global matrix organisation
    • Influence senior stakeholders across operations, engineering, commercial and digital
    • Build strong alignment between central transformation and business unit execution

Preferred requirements:

  • Significant leadership experience in aerospace, engineering, operations or complex industrial environments
  • Proven track record leading large-scale transformation and programme portfolios
  • Strong understanding of commercial aviation and aftermarket business models
  • Experience operating at senior executive / SVP level within a matrix organisation
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including investment governance
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Digital literacy with ability to leverage data, systems and tools to drive insight led decision making
  • Ability to operate both strategically and at execution level
  • Proven capability in driving change and transformation at scale
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence at executive level
  • Highly credible leader with the ability to engage technical, operational and commercial stakeholders
