We are currently recruiting for a Submarine Production Supply Chain Engagement Lead to join our Submarine Production Supply Chain Management Team.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location. As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.
What you will be doing:
The Submarine Production Supply Chain function is responsible for establishing the Dreadnought and SSNA supply chain, ensuring the supply chain is able to support the build drum beat moving from existing 36 month on DN to 18 month on SSNA. Managing the full cycle of the supply chain, ensuring delivery inline with the shipyards required in yard dates, to agree quality standards and cost. Develop and implement clear supply chain acquisition strategies to maximize opportunities on both programmes, whilst minimising any risk. Develop and implement common MI and tools for both programmes, hold regular governance meetings with the supply chain, parties and broader stakeholders to ensure performance and continuous improvement to meet the broader programme milestones. Work with the broader SDA stakeholders SMT and SMEAC to influence broader SDA programmes to support Submarine Production programme outcomes. To achieve this it is critical we have "one voice" to the supply chain covering both programmes. The Supply Chain Engagement Lead will support the Submarine Production Supply Chain Engagement Manager ensuring a consistent approach is taken to supplier engagement and communication across Dreadnought and SSNA. Developing and implementing the Supply Chain engagement roadmap for both programmes to increase awareness and performance on both programmes.

- Wider Government Organisations i.e., Defence Nuclear Enterprise
- Suppliers Tier 2+
- Submarine Production Commercial teams, Submarine Productions IP's RR, BAE, Babcock, DSST, ensure governance and MI in place to hold all parties to account to deliver their Supply Chain scope of work
- Supply Chain leaders from each of the four Parties to support ongoing alignment of Supply Chain Submarine Production Engagement and Communication, ensure Supply Chain engagement and communication roadmap is aligned
- Building strong relationships with the Submarine Production Programme Directors and their teams, seeing them as a customer to the Supply Chain team and achieving and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction driving ongoing continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver the Dreadnought Supply Chain Engagement and Communication Strategy, aligning to the broader Dreadnought communications strategy
- Develop and implement the Dreadnought Supply Chain Engagement Road Map aligned with Alliance partners
- Develop and deliver Submarine Production Alliance Supplier Conferences and engagement events
- Increased engagement through regular programme updates for tier 2+ suppliers
- Targeted Supplier Forums - with clear goals linked in improved supplier performance
- Develop and maintain the Submarine Production Alliance Supply Chain Portal
- Develop, implement and maintain Submarine Production Alliance quarterly newsletter
- Lead Senior Supplier Engagement Review Process
- In conjunction with primes identify target suppliers and prepare forward calendar plan for Senior Leadership Team
- Agree with Senior Leadership Team desired outcomes of supplier reviews
- Prepare briefing papers to support engagements for Senior Leadership Team
- Track the status of review meetings and follow up actions
- Developing relationships and developing/maintaining supplier awareness of the Programme’s needs
- Increase the awareness and the importance of the Dreadnought and SSNA programmes to the extended Supply Chain tier 2+
Who we’re looking for:

- A British National and holds or is willing to obtain security clearance to Security Cleared level before taking up post.
- Graduate-level qualification in a relevant discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience
- Significant experience of working with stakeholders across multiple functions and grade structures
- Experience of working in Supply Chain, preferably with a continuous improvement mentality
- Desirable – experience of working within a major UK investment project, involving both public and private sector organisations
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and exert influence both within and outside direct line management
- Excellent project management skills.
- Strong leadership / team management skills and experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
- Strong analytical and problem solving ability. Hands on approach with "can do attitude"
- Desirable – knowledge of the UK Defence Sector and Submarines Enterprise
