Position Summary
As the Manufacturing IT Systems SME for Rolls-Royce, you’ll be an integral part of the Manufacturing solutions IT team. Your strong knowledge of manufacturing IT systems and processes will enable you to lead and develop complex capability solutions to deliver the capability required by the business operations teams. This role will be instrumental in the development and deployment of the next generation of IIoT, Low Code/No Code and MES solutions into the manufacturing space and developing the AI capabilities within these tools.
What you will be doing:
- Provide a deep understanding of Manufacturing IT systems and solutions within the Manufacturing solutions IT team
- Troubleshoot and debug solution components (configuration of system components)
- Evaluate technical feasibility and application of Solution Development best practices
- Responsible for complex (tier 3) user support in BAU
- Develop a detailed appreciation of an industry / Solution family and its business requirements and interfaces with the Manufacturing community
- Advise on trends relevant to a particular business process or Solution
- Able to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%
Position qualifications:
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in Manufacturing systems capability & processes
Preferred requirements:
- Resolve complex problems using acquired technical experience and knowledge
- Translate business requirements into functional solutions within the constraints of the enterprise architecture and systems level design
- Recognize alternative approaches for reaching a solution and implement most appropriate course of action
- Able to absorb technical information and communicate effectively at all levels to both technical and non-technical audiences
