An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the (DAC) Lifing Service Delivery team as the Lifing Service Delivery Operations Team Lead. The (DAC) Lifing Service is part of the Data & Information portfolio, which uses DAC data from operating aircraft to determine the life for critical parts in the engine. The service works closely with external customers to maintain this data for the safe operation of aircraft and shop visit maintenance requirements for these parts.
The DAC Lifing Service is an essential part of the Rolls-Royce service strategy, delivering huge cost savings and reducing environmental impact across the life of each engine. It is a high profile and fast paced service delivering business critical outputs. The service continues to expand with the growing order book, covering all Trent XWB, Trent 1000 and Trent 7000 engines.
The Lifing Service Delivery Operational Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of Service Delivery Officers in delivering the day-to-day operations of the service, focusing more on the off-board engine data management. The role involves task management and leading the team to deliver effective outcomes. Close collaboration with the MRO induction team to ensure the supply of data for shop inductions. The team is focused on constant transformation, and the Operational Team Leader will maintain process documentation and system improvements.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a team of Lifing Service Delivery Officers, including maintaining and developing team engagement, assessing and improving team capability and define/deliver a training program.
- Manage Lifing Service Delivery team daily tasks, including recording/scheduling tasks, allocating tasks within the team according to priority, monitoring task progress and reporting on task delivery.
- Ensure the DAC system monitoring is carried out to remain healthy. Support the development of tools and monitoring systems and processes.
- Manage a program of process documentation development and deliver a strategic solution for maintaining documents.
- Maintain, update and develop processes used by the Lifing Service Delivery team.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert on the team processes, assisting the Lifing Service Delivery team to enact processes and review/approve work by the team.
- Working closely with the Workscoping team on engine shop visit inductions, ensuring key deliverables are provided to meet commitments.
- Drive transformation to develop capability and simplicity to enable the scalability of the service with new operators and engine types being onboarded.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers including Rolls-Royce DIGITAL, GSC, Planning and Engineering departments, external suppliers (QOCO & SITA), MRO facilities and individual operators.
- Degree (or equivalent) in Digital/IT, Engineering or Project Management disciplines, or comparable skills/work experience.
- Excellent communication and people management skills.
- Strong time management and project management skills.
- Proven ability to recognise and implement process improvements.
- Ability to understand and help resolve technical issues.
- Experience in Microsoft DevOps/PowerBI/SQL desired but not essential.
