We have an exciting opening for a Lifecycle Engineer to join the Civil Safety Centre. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead investigation teams of specialists to identify root cause, containment and solutions for safety issues. The Rolls-Royce Civil Safety Centre provides world-class technical support to investigate and resolve known and potential safety issues for the in-service fleet.
Responsibilities:
- Management of known and potential safety issues (SAR & RT) and appropriate involvement in safety boards as defined in Safety Management Plan.
- Provide technical support to help resolve safety-related technical queries and operational arisings.
- Introduce containment actions and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide technical surveillance and quality assurance audits to support continuous product enhancement for customer satisfaction and business expectation.
- Develop and approve the technical content of technical publications/communications (used by OEM, build/commissioning/maintenance bases and customers) including acceptance limit development.
- Prepare and deliver technical communications (e.g. presentation and/or reports) to platform provider, regulators, customers, internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with requirements specified by regulatory authorities and to adhere to technical and business requirements of internal & external stakeholders.
- Gather in-service data and carry out continuous improvement by identifying Best Practice and Learning from Experience activities, feeding back into future programmes and product design teams.
Position qualifications:
- Engineering or Numerical degree preferred or equivalent with experience.
Preferred requirements:
- Knowledge of components/systems functionality and numerical methods.
- Experience of working on complex tasks that are novel and ambiguous.
- Familiarity of the in-service operation environment, including regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Experience in troubleshooting and/or problem resolution.
- Experience in support/lead cross-functional teams e.g. specialists, suppliers, customers and partners.
- Good knowledge of AI and digital advancements would be beneficial.
