An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join the Trent XWB Commercial Aviation Value Stream team as Fleet Planner. With over 600 aircraft in service and a growing orderbook of 1300 aircraft, the Trent XWB Value Stream covers the full scope of activity for both engines in service and development. This provides a unique opportunity to develop business breadth, lead a team and play a pivotal role in delivering Rolls-Royce’s financial commitments.
This role, reporting to the Product Services Manager, is responsible for utilising the demand planning policy and developing an aftermarket engine removal plan over the short-term (13 week) & medium-term (up to 3 years). From this, the successful candidate will maintain a fleet health forecast plus determine the risks and mitigation actions to ensure timely execution of the plan. This underpins the creation of the aftermarket overhaul and maintenance demand signal and the creation of the operational and financial plans. The role operates as a key planning interface between the Customer Regional teams and Aftermarket Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Inform and deploy the Value Stream's fleet strategy and policy into an operationally deliverable plan.
- Aggregate & optimise fleet level maintenance plans using intelligent planning techniques to maximise fleet health.
- Own the removal demand plan for the allocated product.
- Identify, coordinate and mitigate specific customer fleet operational risks.
- Create lease engine allocation plans.
- Maintenance of relevant fleet planning elements in Maximo for Aviation.
- Actively participate in global fleet health governance and improvement activities.
Preferred requirements:
- Operational or technical planning experience in asset management within an airline would be advantageous.
- Confidence in utilising and presenting data.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and apply logical thinking to support creation of recommendations to achieve business goals.
- Personal drive and motivation to reconcile different business objectives through excellent collaboration, and innovative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate succinctly & influence senior stakeholder groups.
- Understanding of aftermarket, overhaul or airline maintenance activities not essential but a desire and willingness to learn will be key.
