To deliver product maturity at EIS, and during service, on behalf of the Chief Engineer. To deliver service attributes (including reliability, maintenance cost, maintenance burden) that meet the project and business requirements throughout the product lifecycle. Provide project leadership to staff engineers and technical interface for the customers.

Key Accountabilities
  • Definition of system requirements consistent with the achievement of business and customer requirements for all service attributes of the product.
  • Define and instruct the actions necessary to maintain the safe operation of engines/products.
  • Define and implement actions to meet product Reliability objectives.
  • Definition and implementation of the maturity strategy for the Project or any focussed “get well” programs.
  • Contribute to the formation of cost-effective technical policies to resolve operational issues and to meet Life Cycle Cost targets.
  • Define and instruct appropriate containment activities to manage service issues pending, or where applicable, in place of engineering change.
  • Identify repair requirements and sponsor new repair capability in support of Maintenance cost targets.
  • Ensure that the technical root cause understanding of the operational issues is sufficient to allow proper allocation of company priorities.
  • Ensure that the Engineering for Services requirements are properly integrated with the activities of other Departments within the Company, and that issues are prioritised and resourced in line with the principles of Resolve Customer Issues (RCI).
  • Support the ongoing development of functional capability (people, process, tools & methods).
  • Define, Develop & Deliver EHM system & service that supports the product business requirements.
  • Ensure the group act and communicate promptly and effectively to resolve customer queries.
  • Engage with the customers on all service attribute & EfS elements of the product maturity programme (stakeholders, Airlines, Airframers & Authorities).
  • Approve the technical content of all major internal and external reports and customer communications.
  • Creating, evolving and maintaining the product requirements through interfaces with the Customer (including shipbuilder) and business across the entire life cycle of the programme.
Key Experiences and any Qualifications
  • Degree in relevant Engineering and/or Science/Technology subject.
  • Have a proven ability to exercise sound technical and business judgement.
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to influence others through effective and positive engagement on technical and business issues.
  • Knowledge of key processes required to deliver product service attributes.
  • Sound understanding of the operational environment and Customer expectations.
