An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Chief Audit Engineer to join the Technical Assurance Team in Derby, Bristol or Solihull. Reporting to the Director of Technical and Safety Assurance, the Chief Audit Engineer will conduct and report on independent reviews of all engineering programmes, to identify risks, recommend appropriate actions and agree the adequacy of project and/or functional responses.

What you will be doing:

  • Provide independent Technical Assurance of Engineering Programmes as part of the PILM process.
  • Provide independent input to the Safety Management System on behalf of the Technical Director.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to Project and Sub-System teams in solving technical issues as appropriate and promoting "lessons learnt" activity.
  • Assess for and provide guidance on the efficient and effective functioning of the Engineering Capabilities.
  • Assist Chief Engineers in meeting project, company, and regulatory requirements.
  • Be a member of Product Safety Review/Assurance Boards when required.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Recognised by a relevant professional institute e.g. Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
  • Accredited as a professional engineer e.g. Chartered Engineer or equivalent.

Preferred requirements:

  • Significant controls / units / software / cyber / digital experience would be preferred.
  • Experience of working across the full PILM and product lifecycles process.
  • Multi sector experience preferred, Aerospace experience essential.
  • Leadership of project or function activity.
  • Had a role with significant exposure to other functions and activities.
  • Whole Engine Integration or multiple sub-system experience.
  • Knowledge and reputation in key technical discipline and effective networking.
