An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Building Information Modelling Lead to join our Rolls Royce Submarines business in Derby.

Our Main Goals are to ensure BIM is implemented across a 15-20 year construction programme and to provide the site with a comprehensive, up to date and accurate set of Architectural, Structural, Civil, Mechanical & Electrical services and process drawings in a digital format. The Digital Estates Team are also leading an evolving project to develop a 3Dimensional, Information rich, intelligent Building Information Model of the entire Raynesway Estate. This fantastic project hasn’t been done anywhere else across the Rolls-Royce business making it the first of its kind, resulting in us leading the way in setting the standards for digital construction across the entire Rolls-Royce business both nationally and internationally.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You will be acting as the client-side intermediary between designers, supply chain partners and architects so that BIM projects remain efficient and effective.
  • Liaise with internal project teams to ascertain and define project BIM and Digital Information requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining BIM protocols, BIM Execution Plans, and Information Requirements documentation.
  • Produce and manage project BIM documentation including; BIM Execution Plans, Master Information Delivery Plans, Model Production Delivery Tables, and Task Information Delivery Plans.
  • Ensure that project teams deliver an appropriate and useable Asset Information Model at the end of the project and you support the management and implementation of Common Data Environments.

Position Qualifications:

  • Experience in data delivery for assets using BIM Information exchange protocols (COBie).
  • Experience in setting up Common Data Environments (CDEs) and workflows.
  • Design & construction experience and knowledgeable in BIM, preferably integration of it into a business or projects.
  • Experience with the 3D and 4D modelling execution and its process implementation.
  • Preferably have project or design coordination experience.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL.
