An exciting opportunity for a Digital Solutions Specialist is available within our Global Combat Air Programme IT team. This role will involve working with a range of key business stakeholders to support the delivery of key programme milestones and enable the delivery of our Defence Combat strategy for the next 50 years.

Successful delivery of these programmes will ensure both the UK and Rolls-Royce retains combat capability, ensuring freedom of action for the UK and enabling the company to maintain our market share in the Naval, Defence Aero and combat markets.

What you will be doing:

  • Working in accordance with relevant engineering processes and standards, the engineer may perform or coordinate tasks at all stages of the lifecycle of the product, such as:
  • Supporting understanding and development of requirements and solutions to resolve business problems.
  • Engaging and supporting national and international discussions on the implementation of technical solutions, including engineering collaboration (PLM), software development, collaboration and data exchange.
  • Provide guidance on process, methods and technology to the wider team.
  • Supporting compliance and governance across GCAP governance boards and providing input to Defence IT/Central IT governance to ensure that the desired business outcomes and benefits to Defence are delivered.

To be successful in this role you will need to:

  • Knowledge of IT and Digital solutions in the defence industry.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of IT delivery processes and architectures.
  • TOGAF qualification or relevant experience in domains such as systems requirements development, solution design and IT project delivery.
  • Ability to develop strategy and roadmaps based on programme timescales and capability requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with senior business stakeholders and bring technical concepts and roadmaps to life.
  • Experience of working internationally or with a broad range of external stakeholders.
