A unique and exciting role is available in the Engineering Operations IPT for a Lifecycle/Service Engineer. This small team of deployed engineers are dedicated to the support of the Bristol Part 145 MRO Operation. This role is to provide world-class technical support for in-service/delivered products and to influence maturity throughout the product life cycle to meet customer and business needs, ensuring Design Intent is met. This role will be based in the DAOF and will work closely with the assigned product MRO value-stream to lead all engineering safety, quality and cost deliverables. This role is a critical interface between the Bristol Part 145 MRO Operation and all capabilities of the engineering team to ensure that any urgent issues are resolved to support customer delivery and that engineering led projects are delivered successfully.
What you will be doing:
- Provide technical support to help resolve technical queries and operational arisings.
- Develop and approve the technical content of technical publications/communications (used by OEM, build/commissioning/maintenance bases and customers) including acceptance limit development.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities by reviewing and maintaining life cycle engineering policies and any associated maintenance planning documentation.
- Manage any issues that affect the Maturity, Lifecycle Cost, Reliability and Maintainability and maintain Design Intent.
- Prepare and deliver technical communications (e.g. presentation and/or reports) to platform provider, regulators, customers, internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with requirements specified by regulatory authorities and adhere to technical and business requirements of internal & external stakeholders. Where delegated, act as the Technical Authority providing assurance on build, commissioning and maintenance activities.
- Gather in-service data and carry out continuous improvement by identifying Best Practice and Learning from Experience activities, feeding back into future programmes and product design teams.
Who we’re looking for:
- Engineering or Numerical degree (or equivalent with experience).
- Knowledge of product functionality, engineering methods and associated procedures.
- Familiarity with the in-service operation environment, including regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Experience in troubleshooting and/or problem resolution.
- Experience in supporting/leading cross-functional teams e.g. specialists, suppliers, customers, partners.
