We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Chief Engineer - Concepts to join our Advanced Plant Team at Rolls-Royce Submarines based in Derby.

What you will be doing:
- Reporting to the Advanced Plant Chief engineer, the Assistant Chief Engineer - Concepts will drive the management of customer scenarios and headmarks through extensive stakeholder engagement.
- Drive the development of a portfolio of advanced plant concepts to address those scenarios and headmarks through the leadership of a team of system and concept engineers.
- Act as the primary customer to the internal Advanced Plant analysis team for a portfolio of analysis work packages to underpin those concepts.
- Govern technical work in accordance with delegated authorities.
- Provide periodic assurance against portfolio objectives at internal and external management reviews.

- Visionary and competent leadership of people and technical scope.
- Knowledge and applied experience of first principles science and engineering.
- Knowledge and applied experience of concept ideation and maturation.
- Knowledge and applied experience of nuclear power systems.
- Awareness of MoD capability management and equipment procurement.
- Awareness of product lifecycle engineering processes and best practice.
- Appreciation of a breadth of engineering analysis methods relevant to the nuclear domain.
- Master's or PhD level technical qualification, or demonstrable equivalent.
- Chartered Engineer status, or demonstrable equivalent.
