Overview
As a Manufacturing Engineer at the High Temperature Research Centre, you will advance the design and manufacture of turbine components, focusing on single crystal investment casting. You will enable best practice, drive continuous improvement, and act as a knowledge hub across the HTRC and external partners. You will collaborate with Rolls-Royce foundries to scope projects that enhance capability and process reliability. This role combines hands-on engineering with project and change control to deliver world-class manufacturing outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Own equipment and process methods for the HTRC
- Drive best practice and continuous improvement in your area
- Serve as central knowledge hub across HTRC and with suppliers/customers
- Support operational teams to ensure safe, reliable equipment and processes
- Build and maintain links with Rolls-Royce engineering teams to scope improvement projects within HTRC
Key requirements
- Degree qualified
- Strong understanding of single crystal investment casting manufacturing capability
- Proven practical knowledge in manufacturing and component engineering
- Knowledge of turbine components and investment casting processes
- Strong problem solving, programme management, change control, risk management and budgetary control skills
- Strong communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams
- Proactive problem solving and initiative
- Ability to coach and develop Technicians and Engineers
