As an Airworthiness Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring product safety assurance and regulatory compliance within the Defence division. You will support the development of certification requirements, liaise with regulators, and provide independent safety assessments throughout the product lifecycle. This role is integral to maintaining Rolls-Royce's high standards of safety, compliance, and engineering excellence. What You Will Be Doing
As an Airworthiness Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and safety management throughout the product lifecycle. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the creation and development of a Type Certification Basis (TCB).
- Providing an independent overview of safety management by various means including review of certification documents, service documents and procedures.
- Providing regulatory and product safety information and training to the business.
- Assisting in the development and management of Rolls-Royce processes and guidance, particularly where key to the Rolls-Royce Safety Management System.
- Assisting in the creation and approval of Rolls-Royce as a Military Part 21J Design Organisation under EMAR21.
- Liaising with airworthiness regulators to understand regulations, and contribute to future developments and agree certification artifacts.
- Supporting internal teams in understanding and responding to airworthiness regulations and requirements.
Who We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Engineering or equivalent technical capability based on experience.
- Relevant technical experience in an engineering discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of product integrity, liability, and certification frameworks.
- Membership of a relevant professional body, preferably Chartered status (or equivalent regional variations).
