Senior Engineer – Verification & Validation Delivery
Join Rolls‑Royce SMR as a Senior Engineer specialising in Verification & Validation (V&V). This role is based in a hybrid working model, with primary sites in Derby, Manchester, or Warrington.

About the Role
The Development Engineering organisation is accountable for proving that the SMR power station design meets its objectives and requirements. As a Senior V&V Engineer you will lead the process of verifying that the power station design satisfies all requirements, ensuring a delivery‑certain solution using modern engineering tools and techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop verification and validation strategies within your area of responsibility.
- Act as an intelligent customer in the V&V of the plant and the wider Rolls‑Royce SMR business.
- Support the verification and validation of the safety case.
- Produce reports for regulatory bodies and present them to regulators as required.
- Define objectives/requirements for verification and validation activities and agree them with executing parties.
- Audit and collect evidence of verification activities conducted internally and externally in the supply chain.
- Collate evidence, assess compliance to requirements.
- Manage technical interfaces between your department and other functions to produce coherent and efficient technical solutions.
Key Selection Criteria
- Experience in verification and validation of new products, ideally in a safety‑critical and highly regulated industry.
- Experience leading complex engineering projects in a regulated industry.
- Project management skills: managing budget, schedule and resources, reporting and scope control.
- Risk management: identification, management and escalation of technical and programme risk.
- Problem‑solving ability to deliver business needs while ensuring quality and safety standards.
- Supplier and customer relationship management.

Salary and Package
- Salary: £48,000‑£63,000 DOE
