We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Senior Civil Manufacturing Engineer to be involved in a game-changing role as we strive to make the nuclear industry more diverse.

The Senior Civil Manufacturing Engineer will be crucial for the Modularisation Development Programme (MDP), delivering demonstrators and experiments to validate the design, manufacture, and assembly of civil kit of parts and site factory. Your expertise will ensure that the demonstrators meet technical requirements, are delivered on time, within budget, and produce the required experimental outputs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver quality-engineered solutions supporting the integrity and performance of our advanced nuclear technologies.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead a team of direct report engineers and a wider team of indirect engineers to deliver civil kit of parts demonstrators and the site factory demonstrator, ensuring they meet requirements and produce all experimental outputs.
• Ensure robust design for manufacture, allowing the design and manufacturing/assembly methods to achieve the required output.
• Ensure the delivery of demonstrators aligns with RR SMR\’s modularisation strategy, supplier alignment to RR SMR methods, and all experiments meet quality and safety standards.
• Work closely with project engineers, manufacturing teams, civil engineers, design teams, facility team, quality assurance, procurement, suppliers, and delivery partners to ensure successful demonstrator delivery.
• Manage project resources to ensure timely delivery.
• Manage external resources, including demo site suppliers.
• Communicate the SMR and MDP vision and strategy to delivery suppliers.
• Plan and budget for all Civil kit of Parts demonstrators and report regularly.
• Oversee team performance, tasks, time, expenses, and administrative responsibilities with managerial support.

Pay And Benefits

We anticipate paying a salary between £48,000 – £62,500 DOE plus:

• Bonus – Performance-related target opportunity 12.5%
• Benefits Allowance – £2,200 per annum
• Pension – 12% employer and 6% employee contributions
• Holidays – 28 days + public holidays, with options to buy or sell up to 4 days
• Private Medical Insurance – BUPA single cover
• Life Assurance – 6x pensionable pay
• £250 – One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases
