Manager – Reactor Island Holistic Layout
Location: Derby, Warrington or Manchester (Hybrid working options available)
Salary: £57,600 – £75,600 DOE
The role is suited to a degree‑qualified mechanical engineer (or equivalent) with experience who will support the design and delivery of the Rolls‑Royce SMR Reactor Island Layout. The Reactor Island Integration Team is accountable for designing the physical layout of the RR SMR Reactor Island and ensuring the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing installation is integrated with the modular build philosophy.
Responsibilities
- Delivery of the integrated island‑level layout design, leading a team of Layout and Installation/Assembly Engineers.
- Delivery of RI Layout and Installations‑specific process improvements, tooling capability, and product configuration.
- Represent RI Holistic Layout as a panel member for interfacing teams’ design reviews.
- Recruit and manage resources within the team to drive delivery and best utilise individuals’ strengths.
- Lead, support and develop team members – support personal development plans and identify suitable training.
- Provide guidance and coaching to the team on technical and governance related matters.
Salary & Package
- £57,600 – £75,600 DOE
- Bonus – Performance related target opportunity 12.5%
- Benefits Allowance – £2,200 per annum
- Pension – 12% employer, 6% employee contributions
