Reporting to the Senior Manager for Mechanical Handling, the Manager – Mechanical Handling (BoMH) is accountable for the development of fully integrated technical solutions and governance covering the specified scope of through‑life Mechanical Handling equipment. This role, along with other management positions within the Mechanical Handling team, will be responsible for the specified product scope identified across the commodity group. It requires a flexible and agile leader who can manage change, lead the team through a developing business, and deliver the complete product lifecycle.
The candidate will lead, manage and develop the team to deliver the suite of products through the entire lifecycle and enable the team to become the design authority for this commodity group. A proven track record of delivery on large complex programmes, high aptitude for people leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate ambiguity are essential.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing overall direction and governance of programmes
- Validating technical solutions
- Ensuring robust design and safety justification
- Integrating solutions into the overall design and development of total engineering capability
- Stewarding cost and programme objectives
Salary and Package:
- Salary: £57,600 – £75,600 DOE
- Bonus – Performance related target opportunity 12.5%
- Benefits Allowance – £2,200 per annum
- Pension – 12% employer and 6% employee contributions
- Holidays – 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) with option to buy or sell up to 4 days
- Private Medical Insurance – BUPA single cover health care
- Life Assurance – 6× pensionable pay
