Overview
Rolls-Royce SMR is recruiting for an IMS & Quality Coordinator to contribute to compliance for game-changing technology within the nuclear industry. The role is responsible for maintaining and continually improving the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS) to support governance, compliance, and quality across the organisation. The coordinator provides integrity to IMS documentation and acts as the central point for IMS activities.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the IMS (currently hosted on Microsoft SharePoint), including site content, structure, permissions, usability, and documentation such as policies, manuals, procedures, standards, templates, and guidance. Implement enhancements such as navigation improvements, better search, and automation (Power Automate) to streamline IMS use.
- Coordinate and track changes to the IMS in line with the IMS change process. Manage change requests, log and evaluate them, oversee approval, and implement approved changes (update documents, communicate changes, train users).
- Manage IMS logs and master lists, including revision history and metadata (approval dates, next review due).
- Communicate IMS changes to the business via email bulletins, intranet posts, or update meetings.
- Capture and report IMS-related performance and metrics. Define KPIs for the IMS and coordinate broader quality management reporting.
- Develop and update guidance materials related to the IMS and its change management process.
- Support IMS-related training and awareness activities, creating or updating training materials.
- Support certification and audit activities for Rolls-Royce SMR, coordinating responses to external regulatory assessments and ensuring readiness for audits (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Support quality initiatives and continuous improvement projects to enhance business performance and maturity of the quality system.

- IMS compliance and effectiveness with standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and regulatory requirements; successful audits with no major non-conformances.
- Up-to-date, well-controlled IMS documentation with timely updates and proper approvals.
- High user engagement and adoption of the IMS SharePoint site.

Key selection criteria
IMS and Quality Management knowledge
- Strong understanding of Integrated Management System frameworks and quality management principles. Familiarity with standards such as ISO 9001 and awareness of regulatory/Nuclear industry requirements. Ability to interpret requirements and reflect them in company processes.
Technical skills (SharePoint, Automation & AI)
- Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint for IMS content management. Experience with Microsoft Power Automate for automated workflows. Comfort with using AI tools or data analytics to improve processes.
Analytical and reporting ability
- Ability to define IMS metrics, collect data, and use tools like Excel, Power BI, and related Microsoft tools to analyse and present data; identify trends and generate insights.
Organisational & coordination skills
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple documents, requests, and timelines. Ability to juggle change requests, updates, and meetings with attention to detail.
Communication & collaboration
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to create clear process documentation and training material. Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation; adaptable to evolving requirements and resilient in change.
Training & qualification requirements
- Mandatory: Degree or equivalent experience with knowledge of operating within business, programme, or project environments.
- Beneficial: Experience with Integrated Management Systems, quality systems, document management, quality control, continuous improvement, nuclear industry experience; experience with SharePoint, Power BI, Power Automate, Copilot or equivalent tools.
Pay and benefits
Salary: £28,800 – £38,000 DOE plus:
- Bonus: On Target Performance – 7%
- Benefits allowance: £2,200 per year
- Pension: 12% employer and 6% employee contributions
- Holidays: 28 days holiday (+ public holidays); ability to buy/sell up to 4 days
- Private medical insurance: BUPA single cover
- Life assurance: 6x pensionable pay
- One-off starter allowance: £250 for home office purchases
