Role Purpose:

As a Buyer for the Civils Partnerships team you will be supporting the purchasing strategy development and execution by managing the sourcing activities with our suppliers. Supporting development, delivery and approval of sourcing campaigns in accordance with RR SMR business constraints (time, cost, quality) with Internal and External stakeholder engagement throughout the entire life of a procurement campaign. Management of purchase orders typically in the region of £100,000 to £2-3m.

Key Responsibilities and Required Experience:

  • Source and manage the Rolls-Royce global supply chain that will deliver the most efficient and cost-effective service to SMR development.
  • Ensure adherence to functional processes and procedures and ongoing development / continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensure own compliance to the company's code of ethics and all related policies.
  • Establish the commercial framework in which the suppliers shall operate, ensuring cost competitiveness and value for money is achieved.
  • Support to develop and implement global external supplier and commodity strategies which will drive sustainable improvements in quality, cost and delivery.
  • Run global and/or strategic tenders to enable these and help to execute the Purchase to Pay (P2P) solutions that underpin these strategies.
  • Responsible for relationship management and business development of suppliers within their category area or business project to which you are assigned.
  • Advanced MS Office and MS Excel skills for Cost Modelling and Reporting.

Mandatory Experience, Training Or/and Qualifications:

  • BA degree or equivalent or significant industry experience.
  • Ideally MCIPs qualified or equivalent.
  • Purchasing process knowledge required, supply-chain management preferred.
  • Advanced MS Office and MS Excel skills for Cost Modelling and Reporting.

Beneficial Experience, Training Or/and Qualifications:

  • Experience within the Civils & Construction sector (e.g. Structures, Highways, Marine, Groundworks etc).
  • Knowledge of UK or Overseas Civil/Construction contracts.
  • Collating business requirements and preparing Response for Information/Quotation documentation.
  • Strong commercial acumen, ability to challenge and analyse commercial offerings to identify best value for the business.

Pay And Benefits:

  • Salary £28,800 - £37,000.
  • A performance related bonus of up to 7%.
  • An attractive pension scheme with 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
  • You will also receive a flexible benefits allowance of £2,200, enabling you to create a bespoke package to suit your needs.
  • 28 days annual leave (plus bank holiday) with ability to buy additional days.
