Role Purpose:

Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and resolution of automated matching exceptions in accordance with company policies and procedures. This role plays a critical part in maintaining strong vendor relationships, supporting financial accuracy, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the finance department.

Key Responsibilities and Required Experience:

The role ensures compliance with internal controls and supports month-end closing activities by maintaining up-to-date and well-documented financial records.

Role will join Financial Control team (total team size of 6 perm staff and 3 temp) and will be part of a wider Finance team, with a total of 17 perm/temp staff.

  • Review, verify, and enter supplier invoices into the accounting system, ensuring accuracy and proper authorisation.
  • Review and resolve exceptions resulting from the automated accounting system three-way match.
  • Adhere to company policies, internal controls, and relevant financial regulations and procedures.
  • Maintain organised and secure records of all accounts payable transactions, both digitally and physically.
  • Able to handle internal and external queries related to invoices, payments, and account discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities by ensuring all payable transactions are recorded and reconciled.
  • Assist in the performance of regular reconciliations of supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies or outstanding issues.
  • Provide documentation and support during internal and external audits as required.
  • Confident to identify and suggest improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the accounts payable process.
  • Great team player – can do attitude and ability to be flexible when needed for the business.

Mandatory Experience, Training Or/and Qualifications

  • Significant experience in vendor invoice processing, stakeholder relationship management and reconciliations is essential
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong relationship building and organisational skills

Beneficial Experience, Training Or/and Qualifications

Experience with SAP preferred, specifically SAP Ariba and SAP S/4 HANA

Pay And Benefits

We anticipate paying a salary of between £28,800 – £38,000 DOE plus:-

  • Bonus – On Target Performance Opportunity 7%
  • Benefits Allowance – £2,200 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package
  • Pension – 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
  • Holidays – 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days.
  • Private Medical Insurance – BUPA single cover health care
  • Life Assurance – 6x pensionable pay
  • £250 – One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases
