Rolls‑Royce SMR provides a British solution to a global energy challenge, leading the way in Small Modular Reactor technology and shaping the UK’s premier green export opportunity. As we now scale our operations to deliver upon our contractual commitments, we aim to appoint a Project Manager – New Part Introduction (NPI) to project manage New Part Introduction for a supply chain commodity within the Power Station.

Reporting directly to the relevant Category Senior Programme Manager, this will include:

  • Leading cross-functional teams to deliver industrialised hardware to meet Power Station build requirements and subsequent handover to the Supplier Management Team.
  • Project-managing change on behalf of the supply chain to support customer, environmental, localisation needs along with modifications to support overall power plant improvements.
  • Supporting the development and the timely execution of RR SMR New Product Introduction strategy.
  • Planning, tracking and controlling interdependent workstreams whilst proactively mitigating risks for their commodity/commodities.
  • Reporting on NPI status for commodity/commodities (including for example Documentation status; Capital requirements; Sourcing status; Industrialisation status and more).

We seek a diligent and approachable Project Manager who, recognising that this role is one of the first of its kind in the nuclear sector, will embrace becoming a key and trusted member of a best‑in‑class team. We would like you to bring experience of:

  • Leading cross‑functional teams to deliver industrialised products and processes using well-known industry practices.
  • Integrating multiple supplier/partner organisations to a project with common/aligned goals.
  • Supporting the delivery of major/large, complex projects in a capital‑intensive environment.

And if you can offer working knowledge of tools such as Primavera P6, coupled with APM accreditation or a Prince 2 qualification - then this really is a role that you should consider.

What’s In It for You?

The salary for this role is £63,700 – £78,750 dependent on the skills, experience and values you bring. You’ll also receive:

  • Bonus target 12.5% (performance related).
  • Personal Benefits Allowance of £2,200.
  • Pension: 12% employer / 6% employee.
  • Holidays: 28 days + public holidays (option to buy/sell up to 5/4 days).
  • Private Medical Insurance: BUPA.
  • Life Assurance: 6× pensionable pay.
  • Home Office Support: £250 one-off payment for new starters.

Location & Ways of Working

This role can be based from our Derby, Manchester or Warrington offices, with hybrid working and regular engagement with stakeholders and suppliers.
