Our Mission
Our mission is to deliver clean, affordable energy for all. Through the development of our Small Modular Reactor technology, we are creating a British solution to a global energy challenge, helping accelerate the transition to low-carbon power while building a world-class engineering and manufacturing organisation.
The Team
The Governance and Process team sits at the heart of our Engineering function, shaping how work gets done across a rapidly growing organisation. We combine governance, process excellence, digital enablement and continuous improvement to create scalable ways of working that support innovation, collaboration and delivery at pace.
The Opportunity
In this context, we're looking for a Capability Lead – Process Innovation to support our Capability Lead – Governance and Process in defining and embedding the next generation of engineering processes and ways of working. This is a highly influential role that will help shape how our organisation operates as we scale, ensuring that processes are practical, data-driven, digitally enabled and capable of supporting long-term programme success. Rather than maintaining established frameworks, you'll have the opportunity to build new approaches from the ground up, driving innovation across people, process, data, tools and performance management to create meaningful improvements across the Engineering Directorate.
We'll Need You To
- Lead the design, development and deployment of innovative engineering processes and operating models that improve delivery performance and organisational effectiveness.
- Drive the adoption of digital and data-led approaches, identifying opportunities to automate activities, improve visibility and enable better decision-making through performance insights.
- Champion continuous improvement by testing, refining and evolving processes based on feedback, performance measures and emerging business needs.
Why This Role?
This is a pivotal role during an exciting period of growth and transformation. You'll bring strategic thinking, pro-active drive and the ability to influence across a complex stakeholder landscape while combining innovation with a strong focus on practical delivery and measurable outcomes.
What We're Looking For
- A degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrable industry experience.
- Experience architecting ways of working across people, process, data, tools and performance.
- Experience of taking process improvement initiatives from concept through to implementation, adoption and measurable business outcomes.
- Knowledge of process design methodologies, systems thinking, enterprise architecture and the use of digital tools, workflow platforms or data analytics to improve performance.
- The ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, balancing competing priorities while building consensus around new approaches.
A Little More About The Role
Success in this position will come from your ability to see the bigger picture while remaining focused on practical implementation. You'll assess how processes interact across multiple functions and identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and enhance ways of working. You'll help establish an increasingly integrated operating model, ensuring that process design considers the full organisational ecosystem—including people, process, data, tools and performance analytics. By leveraging data and digital solutions, you'll support the evolution of a more efficient, transparent and insight-led engineering organisation. This role offers significant visibility across the business and the opportunity to influence how a growing organisation matures its delivery capability.
Location
We offer flexible and hybrid working arrangements. This role is based in Derby and will require regular attendance at our office to collaborate with stakeholders and support the implementation of new ways of working.
What's In It for you?
- We anticipate paying a salary of between £60,000-£78,750.
- Bonus - Performance related target opportunity 12.5%.
- Benefits Allowance – £2,200 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package.
