Locations: Hybrid working with a primary base at either Derby, Warrington or Manchester.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mature and govern technical solutions for reactor assembly structures and components adjacent to the RPV.
  • Lead integrated programmes across design, analysis, manufacture and verification activities.
  • Manage cost, risk and schedule across complex, multi-site delivery programmes.
  • Develop and guide engineers to deliver high-quality, safety-critical outputs.

Qualifications

  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, with Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards it.
  • Experience designing high-integrity nuclear or safety-critical structures across the full product lifecycle.
  • In-depth knowledge of component integration, verification, manufacture and delivery within complex, regulated engineering environments.

Location and Travel

Hybrid working with primary location in Derby, Warrington or Manchester. Regular travel between UK sites, with occasional national and international supplier visits.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary: £53,800 – £66,500.
  • Performance-related bonus target of 12.5%.
  • Allowance: £2,200, enabling a bespoke package.
  • Pension: 12% employer contribution and 6% employee contribution.
  • Holiday: 28 days plus public holidays, with the option to buy or sell up to 4 days.
  • Family-friendly policies: 39 weeks paid maternity, surrogacy and adoption leave; 6 weeks paternity leave; IVF and assisted conception; neonatal care; and more.
  • Private medical insurance: BUPA single-cover health care.
  • Life assurance: 6× pensionable pay.
  • One-off payment of £250 for new starters for home office purchases.
