We are looking for an experienced engineer to serve as a Senior Build Certainty Integrator, reporting to the Senior Build Certainty Lead within Engineering. This senior, highly influential role will operate across multidisciplinary teams, integrating design and delivery thinking early to reduce schedule risk and transition SMR build from first‑of‑a‑kind complexity to repeatable, scalable production.

Responsibilities

  • Embed build certainty, standardisation and modularisation principles across plant design and delivery activities.
  • Lead and integrate cross‑functional studies and improvement initiatives focused on reducing schedule and delivery risk.
  • Identify and resolve misalignment between design intent, construction sequence and logistical flow.
  • Support formal design reviews and governance to strengthen confidence in delivery models.

Qualifications

  • Engineering or construction discipline qualification, or equivalent demonstrable industry experience.
  • Experience contributing to or delivering elements of complex products or programmes to defined schedules.
  • Working knowledge of systems thinking, continuous improvement or robust design approaches.
  • Proven ability to influence multiple stakeholders to deliver integrated, cross‑functional outcomes.
  • Comfort working in ambiguity and solving problems before they reach site.

Location & Working

This role can be based at any Rolls‑Royce SMR location. Hybrid and flexible working is supported, with regular on‑site attendance required to enable effective collaboration with delivery teams.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: £53,800 – £63,300 DOE plus performance‑related bonus (up to 12.5%).
  • Benefits allowance: £2,200 per annum for bespoke packages.
  • Pension: 12% employer contribution and 6% employee contribution.
  • Holidays: 28 days + public holidays, with option to buy or sell up to 4 days.
  • Private medical insurance: BUPA single cover.
  • Life assurance: 6× pensionable pay (£250 for new starters).
