About Rolls‑Royce SMR

Rolls‑Royce SMR is transforming the future of low‑carbon energy through small modular reactors that deliver affordable, scalable nuclear power for global decarbonisation.

The Role

As IDT Lead – In‑Containment Construction, you will lead an integrated, cross‑functional team responsible for defining, designing, sourcing, constructing and approving containment and in‑containment elements within the Reactor Island. You will bring together engineering, construction, procurement, commercial and regulatory disciplines to create a standardised, optimised assembly approach that is both technically robust and commercially effective. This highly visible role engages with senior leadership to build confidence in plans, align strategy and drive successful delivery.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead a cross‑functional Integrated Delivery Team (IDT) to define and coordinate containment construction strategy.
  • Align engineering, construction, procurement and suppliers to deliver an integrated programme approach.
  • Develop and manage programme plans, including cost models, schedules and resource allocation.
  • Map workflows, dependencies and interfaces across teams and suppliers.
  • Establish clear RACI frameworks across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive visibility and alignment across all organisational levels, including senior leadership.
  • Ensure methodologies align with broader Rolls‑Royce SMR construction and programme standards.
  • Identify and optimise value drivers across lifecycle and fleet deployment.

What you’ll bring

  • Strong experience leading complex, matrixed programmes or integrated project teams.
  • Proven ability to influence and communicate complex delivery plans to senior stakeholders, including executive level.
  • Experience in construction, assembly or major infrastructure programmes.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including cost, risk and value drivers.
  • Understanding of regulated environments, ideally nuclear or similarly high‑integrity industries.
  • Experience in process mapping, value stream mapping and programme modelling.
  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, problem‑solving and leadership capability.
