Engineering Capability Lead – Process Optimisation reporting to the Lead Engineer – Continuous Improvement within the Engineering Governance and Process team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end improvement activities: problem definition, analysis, solution development, implementation and embedding change.
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement to identify inefficiencies, clarify requirements and drive agreed outcomes.
  • Improve engineering processes, guidance and lifecycle frameworks to ensure clarity, usability and consistent application.
  • Develop measures and KPIs, using data and insight to track process effectiveness, compliance and improvement impact.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience within a technical or operational environment.
  • Experience leading structured improvement or problem‑solving activity in engineering, manufacturing or regulated settings.
  • Strong understanding of engineering processes, lifecycle stages and governance frameworks with the ability to translate complexity into practical solutions.
  • Proficiency in using data, stakeholder insight and continuous improvement tools to drive measurable change.

Location & Working Arrangements

Hybrid working with primary office at Derby, Warrington or Manchester. Regular attendance required at one of these core sites.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: £60,000 – £78,750 per annum.
  • Performance‑related bonus opportunity.
  • £2,200 annual allowance for bespoke package.
  • Employer pension contribution 12% and employee contribution 6%.
  • 28 days holiday plus public holidays, with option to buy or sell up to 4 days.
  • Private medical insurance (BUPA single cover).
  • Life assurance 6x pensionable pay.
  • One‑off payment £250 for new starters for home office purchases.
