About Rolls-Royce SMR

At Rolls-Royce SMR, we are pioneering a new era of clean energy through innovative nuclear technology.

We're bringing together talented people from diverse backgrounds to solve some of the most complex engineering challenges and help shape the future of sustainable power.

We believe the best ideas come from different perspectives and experiences.

If you're excited about this opportunity but don't meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply.

The Opportunity

We need you to join our Manufacturing Engineering Modularisation Development Programme (MDP) team and support the delivery of civil modularisation demonstrator projects.

These projects are fundamental to validating the design, manufacture and assembly methods that will underpin the future deployment of Rolls-Royce SMR power stations.

As an Engineer – MDP Civils, you'll work within a multidisciplinary delivery team to ensure demonstrator projects meet technical requirements, are delivered safely, on time and within budget, and generate the critical outputs needed to inform our modularisation strategy.

You'll collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, quality and delivery partners to create solutions that support the integrity and performance of our advanced nuclear technologies.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • Support the delivery of civil engineering demonstrator projects that validate modular construction approaches.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and construction teams to ensure designs can be manufactured, assembled and deployed effectively.

  • Contribute to the successful delivery of projects that provide critical data to support the maturity of our modularisation and site factory strategy.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure activities are undertaken in line with applicable regulations and standards.
  • What Success Looks Like

Success in this role will be measured through the safe, on-time and on-budget delivery of demonstrator projects that provide valuable insights and evidence to support the future delivery of Rolls-Royce SMR power stations.

  • A strong commitment to safety and an understanding of working within highly regulated industries.
  • Experience operating within complex project environments and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with suppliers, contractors and delivery partners.
  • Experience using project delivery tools, metrics and performance management approaches to maintain control of project activities.
  • Knowledge of construction delivery, manufacturing integration, design for manufacture and assembly principles, or modular construction techniques.
  • Practical experience supporting a positive safety culture and awareness of CDM (2015).

Qualifications & Experience

  • A recognised engineering qualification such as an HND, Foundation Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
  • Ideally, professional registration or accreditation such as IEng or CEng.
  • Experience within civil engineering projects, preferably within nuclear, energy, infrastructure or another highly regulated sector.
