Our Digital & IT function is central to enabling secure, scalable and innovative capabilities that support the growth of our SMR programme. As our business continues to evolve, we are strengthening how security is embedded across Enterprise, Engineering, Manufacturing and Programme Delivery activities. In this context, we're looking for a Cyber Security Architect to provide security architecture leadership across a diverse technology landscape. Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Programme Delivery, Digital & IT and Cyber Security teams, you will help shape secure-by-design solutions that support the delivery of one of the UK's most ambitious engineering and industrialisation programmes. This is a highly influential role that combines technical leadership, architectural governance and strategic engagement to ensure technology decisions align with business objectives, customer expectations and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop and maintain security architecture standards, patterns and reference architectures that support consistent and scalable delivery.
  • Provide architecture assurance, threat modelling and design governance across strategic programmes and technology initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business, engineering, manufacturing and technology stakeholders to align security architecture with organisational objectives.
  • Support the secure adoption of new technologies, platforms and ways of working whilst balancing business, customer and regulatory requirements.

Essential skills

  • Experience with Azure and/or AWS environments.
  • Proven ability to influence technology strategy, shape architectural direction and provide governance across multiple initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of security architecture principles, enterprise architecture concepts and secure-by-design approaches.
  • Experience engaging senior stakeholders and collaborating effectively across technical and business teams.

Beneficial qualifications include BCS Architecture certifications, CISSP or equivalent industry-recognised certifications.

We anticipate a salary of £69,000 - £90,600 dependent on the skills, values and experience you bring.
