Role Summary

Reporting to the Senior Information Manager, you will lead a small specialist team to embed best‑in‑class configuration management across the SMR programme, ensuring robust control of engineering data and enabling high‑quality delivery at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and govern configuration management processes aligned with engineering, programme and quality lifecycle requirements.
  • Lead the development and control of integrated configuration baselines, including the Product Breakdown Structure and Bills of Materials.
  • Drive effective engineering change management aligned to programme milestones and regulatory expectations.
  • Build and develop a high‑performing Configuration Management team and foster cross‑functional adoption.

Qualifications

  • Relevant technical degree (or equivalent experience) and professional accreditation (e.g., CEng or similar).
  • Experience leading configuration management in complex, regulated environments and influencing senior engineering stakeholders.
  • Deep expertise in configuration management processes, tools, and Product and Plant Lifecycle Management systems, with strong knowledge of change control and data governance.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, drive cultural adoption, and operate with strong commercial and regulatory awareness.

Location

Hybrid working. Expect to attend one of the RR‑SMR sites regularly, depending on business and team requirements.

Benefits

  • Salary: £60,000–£78,750.
  • Performance‑related bonus target opportunity: 12.5%.
  • Home‑office allowance: £2,200 per annum.
  • Pension: 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
  • Holiday: 28 days plus public holidays, with the option to buy or sell up to 4 days.
  • Private medical insurance – BUPA single cover.
  • Life assurance: 6× pensionable pay.
  • One‑off payment for new starters to purchase a home office: £250.
