As the Production Assistant you will support the daily operations of our Production facilities. The ideal candidate will collaborate on process improvements, prioritise safety, ensure efficient operations and have an ability to work effectively in a team and report into the Production Team Leader.
What you will be doing:
- To wash engines and power packs as required
- General yard/facility housekeeping duties
- Using a tow truck, forklift, 10 and 20t cranes to support the daily operations of production, specifically the moving and loading of engines and Power pack units
- To assist in engine delivery inspections, as required
- Monitoring the replenishment of cleaning fluids and equipment (industrial cleaner, pressure washer and cleaning equipment in work areas)
- Proactive in the company’s H&S policies and processes
- Any other reasonable activities required by your Superiors
Position Qualifications
- Must possess a full, clean driving licence and be a UK passport holder.
- Experience driving forklift/tow truck and crane operation is preferable, although training will be provided.
- Enthusiastic, open minded and flexible in job structure and routine.
- Proactive and with good initiative and organising skills.
- Ability to identify ways to save money and improve efficiency.
- Excellent teamwork skills and ability to foster a positive work environment.
- Organised, with a keen attention to cleanliness on the shopfloor and the wider facility.
- Takes ownership and demonstrates accountability for task completion.
- Capable of safely operating machinery.
- Responsible, reliable, and dependable in completing tasks on time.
Note: This job is physically demanding and you will be required to work outside in all weathers.
Preferred Requirements
- Language: Must be fluent in both written and spoken English.
- Literacy and Numeracy: Must be competent in both.
- Computer literate with proficient keyboard skills and knowledge of both Windows and iOS based systems.
- On-the-job training will be provided for SAP C4S, 3C’s, MTU Go!Care and MTU Business Portal.
