An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Rolls-Royce Washington business as a Production Controller. The Washington facility manufactures mainly types of complex HP Turbine discs, Compressor Discs, Fan Discs, Cover Plates and is set for a period of significant growth over the next 5 years. This role is a key position within the Plant as part of a high-performing, cross functional team.
As a Planning & Control professional you will be involved in Planning & Control activities across the Manufacturing Plant to ensure that delivery performance expectations are achieved, inventory is optimised, and the business complies with material control policies, maximising value to the business, developing their competency and driving process excellence. You will apply a Lean mindset to both Planning & Control processes and Manufacturing Planning to reduce waste and optimise delivery to customer from available resources.
What you will be doing:
- This role will require you to use scheduling techniques to control production through the process in line with business requirements to deliver on-time to customer expectations.
- Ensuring that all systems used to control production planning are maintained daily and reporting key performance data for your area including Production Order Adherence, Throughput Monitoring and Lead Time.
- Working with the multi-functional team to monitor and ensure adherence to the plan at an engine bay and resource group level. Where performance diverges from the plan, identify, mitigate, and drive effective and full resolution.
- Working with our Supplier Management teams to ensure optimum material availability through early identification and prevention of shortages and excess which would otherwise impact business performance.
- Working with both internal and external stakeholders across the extended supply chain as the primary point of contact for delivery and championing the root cause resolution of on-time delivery issues.
Preferred requirements:
- Experience of working with manufacturing, supply chain management, purchasing or logistics field with APICS or equivalent qualifications.
- Experience of SAP or equivalent ERP system, highly confident in data analysis and an aptitude and confidence to develop further.
- Excellent communication skills, an ability to influence and work successfully with cross-functional teams in a rapidly changing environment.
- Someone who is comfortable working alone with the detail but also works well as part of a team to improve overall business performance.
- Skilled in problem solving techniques with the ability to interpret data and trends and confident to pull the right team together to find a solution.
