A full-time role within Turbine Systems MBU, responsible for Turbine Blade Casting Plants (PCF and ABCF) and ALM. This key leadership position is part of a high-performing, cross-functional team within the Manufacturing cluster.
Responsibilities
- Apply a Lean mindset to Planning & Control processes and Manufacturing Planning to reduce waste and optimise delivery to customers from available resources.
- Ensure an optimised plan across the plants in terms of loadshare and resource allocation, with appropriate risk mitigation to maximise opportunity for success.
- Deliver performance using the R-R Production System and lead the P&C teams to understand performance gaps and implement action plans. Key metrics: OTIF, arrears, inventory, ERP compliance and customer KPIs.
- Collaborate with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality and Programme Management to prioritise and support performance enablers.
- Coordinate the Sales and Operations Planning (SIOP) process and lead the four-weekly Manufacturing Planning process to create balanced plans that meet business and customer requirements.
- Manage plants’ response to SIOP, including inventory budget and forecast management.
- Ensure inventory and slow-moving WIP plans reflect year-on-year improvement in stock turns and review excess inventory, including independent requirement demand.
- Plan, approve and control any recommended inventory buffers.
- Manage Planning & Control related change for plant commodities, and provide input into commodity strategy and make/buy decisions, shaping the supply chain blueprint.
- Work with Programme Management to understand, plan and control product introduction milestones and supporting actions.
- Develop, manage and control logistics processes, ensuring adherence to the logistics budget and internal standards.
- Maintain local operational relationships with logistics partners.
- Develop, coach and lead Planning & Control team members, managing two P&C teams and balancing resources across accountabilities.
- Ensure functional and behavioural competencies are in place and develop training plans to close gaps.
Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, planning and control, and operational leadership such as production management.
- Knowledge of both supplier and demand planning.
- Proven ability to integrate across functions at a leadership level.
