A vacancy has arisen for a Security Officer within the Security Department at the Rolls-Royce Submarines site at Raynesway and we are seeking a professional Security Officer to join our team in maintaining the protection of our premises, assets and personnel.

What you will be doing:

As a Security Officer you will be part of a team that provides a 24 hour, 365 days a year security service on site at Raynesway, protecting the company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment. You will observe for signs of crime or disorder and investigate incidents.

  • Act lawfully in the protection of life or property.
  • Maintain and produce accurate written records and reports of daily occurrences and report in detail any suspicious incidents.
  • Carry out internal, external and perimeter foot patrols of buildings and site infrastructure.
  • Carry out control of access and egress at vehicle access points and building entrances.
  • Operating and monitoring of Security and Emergency alarm systems, which include CCTV systems and Automated Access Control Systems.
  • Conducting entry and exit searches of vehicles and personnel entering and exiting the Raynesway Site.

As a successful candidate you must be flexible and will be required to work shifts 24/7, which includes weekend working and Bank Holidays.

  • Whilst not essential, previous security or control room experience would be highly desirable.
  • You must demonstrate sound communication skills and be able to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure.
  • Work shifts as part of a 24/7 cover.
  • Full UK driving licence is essential.
  • Be able to achieve SIA licensing requirements (training provided).

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place.

Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets we can only progress applications from individuals who are a UK national or, in MoD approved cases, a dual national.

As part of our selection process, candidates in certain locations may be asked to complete an online assessment, which can include cognitive and behavioural aptitude testing relevant to the role. If required, full instructions for the next steps will be provided.
