Job Summary
The role is for an NDT Inspector/Process Wash Operative based in Derby.
The incumbent will focus on processing parts through the wash line, identifying defects through Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), and ensuring compliance with instructions, specifications and standards.
Safe working practices and teamwork are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Process parts in line with Process Instruction Manuals (PIMs), utilizing appropriate techniques and chemicals in the wash processing area.
- Carry out NDT inspection of components using FPI techniques.
- Maintain processing areas, complete daily inspections and control checks, replenish tanks, and perform other related tasks.
- Update SAP as parts are processed through the area.
- Deliver all components associated with the team’s accountabilities, working independently.
- Actively participate in improvement activities.
- Apply appropriate health and safety practice and maintain a safe environment at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
- Knowledge of asset care and problem‑solving ability with independent decision making.
- Experience in an aerospace environment; EN 4179 accreditation in FPI and/or MPI is desirable.
- Interpretation of manufacturing instructions & drawings.
- Ability to work to SOPs, quality standards and technique instructions.
- Qualified for lifting and slinging, as well as HPC knowledge and application.
