  • Temporary role – 1 Year Fixed Term
  • Role Purpose

The Customer Master Data Governance & Quality Lead manages the processes for maintaining Customer master data objects in SAP.

Applying data governance principles, the role ensures this key master data is appropriately governed, relevant, accurate, and fit for purpose.

  • Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Governance Framework & Strategy – Own the creation and maintenance of Customer master data policies, standards, and processes for managing data throughout its lifecycle.

Define accountability and establish protocols for data access, use, and protection.

Lead governance initiatives to improve process and data quality as the master data steward.

  • Data Quality & Integrity – Design, measure, and improve data quality standards across the organisation for master data in scope.

Ensure integrity between systems, improve accuracy, and design performance tracking to measure data value.

Identify improvement initiatives and prioritise delivery with data owners.

  • Business Partnering & Operational Support – Provide subject‑matter expertise on Customer data usage across the organisation.

Partner with data owners and business stakeholders to improve efficiency, ensuring right data is available at the right time without errors.

Establish trust through reliable and transparent data management supporting data‑driven decisions.

  • Culture & Education – Support the development of a data‑driven culture through training, reporting, and education initiatives related to Customer data.

Provide specialised SME knowledge to business and projects.

Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience: 6+ years in Customer master data governance, data quality management, or related roles.

Proven experience with data governance frameworks, data lifecycle management, best practice Customer data management, SAP Customer master data, cross‑functional collaboration, and stakeholder relationship management.

Demonstrated ability to lead data quality improvement initiatives, implement governance strategies, foster a data‑driven culture, deliver continuous improvement and automation.

Skills & Competencies

  • Technical / Functional Knowledge – Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality standards, end‑to‑end data lifecycle management, and Order‑to‑cash process areas.
  • Problem Solving – Ability to identify and resolve complex data issues using a logical, data‑driven approach.

Skilled in root cause analysis and implementing sustainable solutions.

  • Organisation Expertise – Deep understanding of data governance within the broader business context and effective collaboration with cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure data integrity and alignment with business objectives.
  • Accountability – Takes ownership of data governance initiatives and ensures timely delivery of high‑quality results. Escalates risks or issues promptly.
