An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Market Analyst to join the Market Analysis team in Civil Aerospace, based in Derby. As a Market Analyst, you will examine the Civil aviation market, world economies and events to provide information and insights that inform business decisions. Your responsibilities will include producing forecasts, trend monitoring, reports and insights based on market analysis, airline and aerospace strategies and airline fleets. You will also provide analysis and key knowledge for multiple stakeholders across the Civil business, working cross‑functionally and managing ambiguity, time and influence.

Responsibilities

  • Use data‑driven insights to develop market forecasts (e.g., predicting Engine Flying Hours and fleet development) to influence business decision‑making.
  • Gather and evaluate a wide variety of market information through internal and external sources to discern market trends and glean insights.
  • Provide analysis and insight on market information, translating data, observations and results into business language and communicating effectively to the business and customers using available technologies such as PowerBI dashboards.
  • Collaborate with IT specialists to develop and evaluate innovative models for predictive learning, visual analytics, data insight and statistical inference.
  • Integrate market forecast data and airframe production schedule information to support business planning.

Preferred Requirements

  • Analytical strength and experience; a degree in a strong quantitative discipline such as Maths, Statistics, Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Aviation industry awareness and knowledge.
  • Experience analysing trends for use in planning and forecasting.
  • Knowledge of visualisation platforms such as PowerBI.
  • Strong Excel skills and knowledge of programming languages such as Python and SQL.
