The Team
The Reactor Island Layout and Installations team is at the heart of delivering our modular construction strategy. Working across engineering, operations and programme functions, the team is responsible for developing innovative installation and delivery solutions that maximise the benefits of factory-built modules and support the efficient deployment of our SMR fleet.

The Opportunity
In this context, we are looking for a Lead Engineer - Module Partner Development to support our Reactor Island Layout and Installations Senior Manager. This is a strategically important role that will help shape our future module delivery model, developing the engineering scope, responsibilities and ways of working with our Module Partner organisation to enable successful programme delivery.

We'll need you to:

  • Develop responsibility matrices, engineering processes and delivery models that support the transition into detailed design and future deployment phases.
  • Act as a bridge between engineering, programme and operations teams, ensuring cross-functional topics such as commissioning, resource planning and organisational design remain aligned.
  • Drive planning, scope development and partnership maturity activities, whilst supporting technical, commercial and programme decision-making across the modules programme.

This is a pivotal role within our business, and you'll bring a collaborative approach, systems-thinking mindset and first-class stakeholder management skills, as well as:

What we're looking for

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, alongside Chartered Engineer status or a commitment towards professional registration.
  • Experience developing engineering scope, delivery models and stakeholder alignment across complex programmes and organisational boundaries.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, including requirements management, stakeholder management, technical risk management and gated design review processes.
  • Experience developing schedules, managing programme delivery activities and communicating effectively across a wide range of technical and business stakeholders.

Location
We offer hybrid and flexible working but will expect regular attendance at one of our offices in Derby, Manchester or Warrington, alongside occasional travel to support workshops and partner engagement activities.

  • We anticipate paying a salary of between £60,000-£78,750 DOE plus:

  • Private Medical Insurance - BUPA single cover health care
  • Life Assurance - 6x pensionable pay
  • £250 - One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases

You'll be joining a forward-thinking organisation that values transparency, fairness and innovation. We offer:

  • A flexible, inclusive and supportive working environment
  • Opportunities for career growth in a rapidly scaling business
  • Exposure to strategically significant programmes and senior stakeholders
  • A culture that values diversity, innovation and continuous learning

Selection Process
The recruitment process will consist of an introductory discussion with the Talent Acquisition team, followed by interviews with hiring managers and key stakeholders. • Obtaining Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance
  • Satisfactory completion of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Satisfactory completion of a basic financial probity check
