We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Application Engineer to join the team in Derby on a full‑time permanent basis. As the lead Application Engineer you will be part of a cross‑functional team supporting Civil Aerospace Mature Engines including RB211-524 and Trent 800. You will be responsible for the delivery of engineering IPT objectives defined by the program, planning and executing technical projects for propulsion system components while maintaining delivery schedule, budget and quality. This integration role involves coaching and enabling engineering teams to develop robust, verified solutions against validated customer requirements.
What you will be Doing:
- Primary technical liaison officer with Siemens Energy for the industrial engine applications for the Trent 800 and RB211-524 engines
- Lead global multi‑disciplinary teams across different specialisms to drive completion of project tasks and deliverables in accordance with applicable processes, procedures and regulations
- Effectively communicate complex technical projects with program stakeholders internally to leadership and externally to customers, regulators and airframers
- Execute WBS/NWA cost account management, integrated planning/scheduling, earned‑value assessment, risk management and continuous improvement tasks
- Own engineering safety management system (SMS) activities including support of safety review boards, Red Tops, Safety Alert Reports, Safety Management Plans and other SMS processes
- Support wider Civil Mature Engines project team with Airframer Integration (Boeing) activities
Basic and preferred qualifications:
Degree level in Engineering. Good communication and presentation skills and an ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
