Responsibilities

  • Define technical packages/investigations of work providing delivery against programme milestones within agreed cost, timescale and quality requirements;
  • Apply safety or plant engineering experience to identify effective solutions to problems relating to our safety management systems;
  • Serve as the point of contact locally for safety management and share subject‑matter knowledge across the function;
  • Provide advisory services to designated customers, influence their peer group, represent senior departmental staff and act as advisor/coach on matters where technically authoritative;
  • Actively promote, encourage and support the identification and implementation of continuous improvement of tools, processes and methods both within the immediate sphere of safety management and beyond, and prompt action across the wider team.

Qualifications – Basic and Preferred

  • Experience of Nuclear Safety Case or Plant Operator experience (Category A or B Nuclear Watchkeeper) or relevant experience in Nuclear Plant or Site Safety Case writing background;
  • Customer, Supplier or Stakeholder management experience at all organisational levels;
  • Knowledge and experience of product integrity / liability and certification frameworks;
  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s or PhD in Engineering or regional equivalent qualification, or equivalent technical capability based on practical knowledge and experience.
