Fitter – Assembly and Test (Full Time, 4 Shift Overlay) Derby. This role involves assembling and testing engine components and modules in accordance with safety requirements and established procedures.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team to deliver Modules & Engines on time to a high specification for the customer.
- Fit engine components and/or modules as directed by engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Raise non-conformance issues.
- Work to set deadlines to achieve performance targets and customer delivery commitments.
- Operate in a compliant manner to ensure products are built to correct technical and quality specifications.
- Participate in continual review and improvement processes to identify best practice.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Completed a recognised Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship and an NVQ/SVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated experience in using a variety of engineering equipment and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply instructions to achieve quality.
- Preferably demonstrable fitting experience of engine components.
- PC literacy is essential.
- Knowledge of lean principles and process basics.
- Manual handling essential.
